Thank you for being here!
I think most artists will agree - that the act of not creating will burn you out faster than anything else in the world. We feel that we must create, paint, draw, imagine, make something if our lives are to be worth anything.
I spent years forcefully keeping my creative instinct on the backburner, thinking 'someday I'll do something with it', instead focusing my efforts on a career as a psychiatric nurse which I still loved wholeheartedly. Even then, I never stopped creating, but it was always a half-hearted effort, always trying to fit in fleeting moments of art-making in between the busy schedule of my every-day life. Eventually I came to the realisation that this wasn't enough for me.
If I had to condense all I've ever really wanted to do with my life in one phrase, it would come down to helping others and being a positive energy in people's lives. Until recently, I did not realise that I could achieve this through my art.
So now, at 27 years old, I am diving into my art career fully and with all of my heart. It truly feels like a homecoming.
I hope you find something here that resonates with you, inspires you, or at the very least, makes you smile!
With love,
Amy
